Video chatting with Front facing camera

i was planning on getting a new android phone and after reading and watching reviews, i was pretty much sold to this device. until i heard this issue people are having with this phone. video chat. skype to be exact.
they say you can't skype with this phone with front facing camera. is this true?

why wouldn't it work? it's very advanced handset with now official gingerbread upgrade. i don't get it..

so if skype does not work. what other options do i have to video chat with front facing camera? would google talk work? my girl friend is getting the iphone4s. is there an app that i would be able to use the g2x to video chat with her?

It does work but Skype needs to update more, there's so many bugs.

The LG 2x can only use landscape mode for Skype and use both cameras but as I said it needs updating

Can you do Google Talk on an iPhone? Or at least get a messaging client that is GTalk compatible?
