The reason it failed in Mass Storage, and you are having problems, is the file is over 4gb. The FAT system cannot accept files over 4gb. And as I have stated earlier in this thread, the stock Android video player has problems playing files over 2gb. So you need to split your file into less than 2gb chunks.

Ariya, sitlet is right about files over 4gb, but when u get the files down to under 4gb ive noticed the freezing of all mkvs files any size under 4gb when u try to fast forward. If u fast forward and wait like 90 seconds the the video will start to play, then u can fast forward and back as much as u want but u have to wait the 90 seconds 1st. I guess id rather wait the 90 seconds and have a smaller files size to put on more movies than have 1 big file just under 4gb's. B

Aero1 I converted a movie using avs converter to Matroska(mkv) and yes I agree it does look stunning and shrinks the fill down but when i try to scroll threw the movie it locks up every time. You getting that too???
No, your file size and bitrates are way too high. mine play and rewind and advance smoothly. I have converted about 1000 blu rays.
One, the stock video player doesnt technically accept mkv files, only mp4 container. .
there is no different n playback on my Episc or Evo between mkv containers and mp4.
I recommend all conversions to mkv.
Also people are much better off with the free app Mvideoplayer which has many more options than stock players and handles both mkv containerized subs as well as external sub, srt and other major subtitle formats (very nice when you don't have headphones handy.)

there is no reason on earth why you should have 4gb film files for any of htese android phones (maye for a tab but not for 800 screens)! high action 2hour films should come out to about 1.5- 2gb gb properly comressed. I have mostly 800mb 90 minute filsm, I jsut gave examples of perfect compressiosn for certain long high action films at 1.5 gb

a) No reason to have a video bitate over 1500 on these phoens, you wll only get wors results.

b) Why is your resolution 1280 by 720? take width down to 800w! Not only will you save storage space but you will get better playback from your gpu not having to downscale.

c) framerate is double what it should be

d) you do not want a 5.0 format profile, you want Main@L3.0. 4.0 at most

If you encode the same film at bitrates of 3000 vs 1500, the 1500 will look better on the Epic because the processor can handle it better.

The settings I showed for Troy and IM2 look stunning and they are very manageable sizes.
