Video question

I've recently been videoing the sermons at our church. Phone stopped at 47:05 on 2 Sundays ago and I didn't notice it.

This past Sunday I was watching for it and sure enough same time frame, 47:05. A message popped up saying MAX time and it stopped. I hit record again and got the rest.

Both times the file was 3.99 gig. Is it a file size limitation? And if so, how can I get around that? If not file size, why 47:05? I have the settings on 1280x720 which should create smaller files than 1920x1080 or 3840x2160, correct?

I have it on 1280x720. Pastor has been running long on this topic so maybe I'll just have to look for a good cut point and have 2 parts?

3.99GB, almost certainly you've hit the max file size limitations of a FAT formatted SD. Might be able to partition format the SD as Linux EXT4, not sure how it works here, I've never done this. There's also Win NTFS format, but phone won't read that without a custom kernel.

You could record the videos in SD rather than HD, that would allow a longer recording time. But depends if you want to do that or not. A sermon is usually just a priest in a pulpit, isn't it, does that really have to be in full HD?

You should find it in the camera's setting options, don't have an LG myself, but on my phone the video recording options are 4K, 1080p, 720p and 480p. 480p is SD, which should give you a couple of hours continuous recording. Don't think you want to go less than 480p though, if the phone has them, because the results might not be too brilliant.

480 is standard line resolution for NTSC television, what's why its called SD, Standard Definition. :thumbsupdroid:

Have you tried any 3rd party camera/video apps that may give you more options?
Not a photog by any stretch here, but, thought it'd be worth a shot.
