view bitrate of mp3 on Android?

Hi i'm looking for a free app that will show me the bitrate of a mp3 file.

I know PowerAMP does this but i'm not rooted and the free version is a trial that only works for 2 weeks.

I have ES file manager but I dont think it will show me that info?

What does rooting have to do with it? You mean you're unwilling to just buy PowerAmp? Its a good investment IMO.

Yes i'm unwilling to buy it. The stock google music app works fine for me, and I like it.

There has to be another program that will let me view the bitrate besides poweramp that is free. I don't care if it's an id3 tag editing program or an mp3 player, or whatever.

Bottom of the now playing screen, under the seekbar. There's a value for KHZ and KBPS there, as well as file type.

Honestly though not really sure how important this info is unless you get your music from weird sources. All sources I have tells me the bitrate of the file I'm downloading. Anyway, I manage my music on my PC and edit the bitrates myself. Does it have to be on the phone itself? Why not just check the bitrates on a PC?
 
Thanks mate. Knew it was gona be something obvious lol. Id honestly never noticed that :)
I wanted to see how "dense" the music ive downloaded from youtube is that was uploaded from rare vinyl just outa interest :)

I barely even turn on my PC anymore since I've gotten my Android :D I'm trying to keep it that way lol

So how about sharing the comparisons? I've been thinking about ripping some you tube tunes. I realize all of them will not be created equally but I'd be interested in what you find out. I prefer 192kbit/s myself.

I always use clipconverter.cc on my PC and it works great.

To get 256kbps you have to make sure the person has uploaded the video in 720p or 1080p, otherwise it will not be 256kbps.

How do you do this on an Android though? because I can't get the direct link through the youtube app, or on m.youtube.com ?


edit: the only way I was able to do it is go to settings in the browser and hit "request desktop site" to get to youtube.com and then I was able to get the direct link, put it in clipconverter.cc, and download the .mp3

is there an easier way to do this?
 
All of it will sound nasty unless you rip it right from the source (CD) in FLAC format.

If you want the FLAC files to sound awesome (as awesome as music can sound on a phone), you'll want JetAudio. It kicks the snot out of PowerAMP and makes it look like a childs toy.

JetAudio Basic is free. No time limit. The Pro version is where all of the magic happens though.
