I receive faxes directly onto my PC and have been trying to view them on my HTC Desire mobile phone. I think there is an easy way to do this. First, set up a free 'Dropbox' account on the PC which can be accessed from the mobile. Open the fax on the PC and save it as a 'pdf' BUT with a new name - do not just change the extension 'tiff' to 'pdf' as this does not appear to work. Load the fax (pdf version) into 'Dropbox'. When viewed from the mobile it opens with any 'pdf' app - first try the pre-installed Adobe app. Good luck!
