Viewing Movies and File Names on M8

I have loaded about 20 full length movies on my M8. When I want to watch a movie I am go to the Gallery and all I get is a preview reel that I don't want or need and square boxes to click on with a random cover pictures that in no way identify the title of the film. I would like to be able to pick a file to watch by name without randomly just clicking the file to see the title or downloading additional explorer programs or gallery software.

I am sure there is a way to do this as it seems to be the most basic requirement for a usable gallery, but finding the solution escapes me.

If someone could point me in the right direction I would REALLY appreciate it.

That has been a flaw with HTC galleries for as long as I remember. A file explorer app from the market is a workaround.

I use an app called MX Player to view movies. I'm not sure if it will play Google Play downloads but it plays everything else. Give it a try. I liked it so much I went with the Pro version to give the developer some money.

Same here use it for all video watching now, even download the codec to play some mkv's :)

Yeah MX Player is the best out there. I also use ES Explorer to rename the files to what ever I want them to be called.

Then hide the folders from the Gallery app.
