Root Vigin Media update to 2.2 ?

Hi to all.

I have a Virgin Media branded phone which is running with an o2 sim card.
A few months ago I was prompted to update to 2.2, consequntly my phone was bricked probably because the update came from o2 not Virgin.

I have now been prompted to update again 2.22.351.2 however i am reluctant in case this has come from o2.
Does anyone else know if virgin have finally issued the offical update.

That's not from o2, the operator doesn't dictate the ROM version.

o2 ROMs are x.xx.207.x so it's not from there...Virgin is x.xx 351.x so it IS the Virgin FroYo update

The phone, regardless of SIM card, checks the HTC server and if there is an update will send it to the phone

Wow i am now on 2.2 it worked, thankyou for giving me the confidence to give it a go. A very stressfull wait as it all downloaded but seems ok. I rang virgin today and they quoted an email about how the update had problems, maybe i have been lucky 2nd time round and Virgin are finally rolling out the upgrade.
