I'm sorry about this question I only see one post for this Rom we have to use hangouts or secondary sms app for mms to work and not the stock

Hangouts is my app of choice although I do occasionally switch to the stock TouchWiz messaging app (which is included as an optional component as of 2.0). I hear Textra works well but any messaging app that works on the stock ND8 or NDC KitKat releases should work fine but I can't really offer any support for them as I don't use them.

I love your ROM! It's great! But as of 2.x I have lost the ability to tether (wireless and hardlined) It appears as limited, or just gives no data.

IS there any reason you can think this would be? I'm on nd8, and when running Wicked-X I have tethering support, but not on yours. I have tried with and without the hotspot fix...

Also an Idea for implementation: Xposed modules, and Viper4Android. They add a lot to the phone and it's great! Also perhaps comadose?

Thanks for any help!!

I am on 2.0 and the built-in wifi hotspot works for me. :)

Just flashed 2.2 update and contact text is white like the background resulting in a empty white box unless I search for a contact. If I type in the search box the names show up.
Wiped cache and dalvik before flashing too.

I use Wi-Fi tether all day every day. Try a clean install of 2.0 (hold off on the 2.2 update until I push the fixed build).

Xposed is just as easy to install on this ROM as any other. The author of Xposed does not recommend integrating it directly into a ROM for various reasons.

Audio mods are something that will not be added as my experience with them is they offer little to no tangible benefit.

I'm not familiar with "comadose."

Thanks for the suggestions.

is their a way i can use the stock touchwiz launcher and still have this rom

Either pull the APK out of a TW ROM and push it to your phone or try Galaxy Launcher from the Play Store which is a TW launcher clone.

Sorry, uploaded wrong build. I'll get the right one posted after work.

Correct build uploaded. Main download post has been updated to reflect. Should be fine to flash over the previous build. Sorry for the trouble!

Build 2 works great. Only bug albeit minor, is when you dial a new number the "add to contacts" text next to the + is black like the background.

Wow. I didn't even know there was such a label. Shows how much I use the dialer. Anyway, fixed that this morning but it will have to wait for the next release as I'm working out some theme bugs in the framework.

Got it running not sure what broke my tether.
This is comadose [MOD][TWEAK-PACK][2-17-14][S3] ComaDose A Collection Of The Best, By The Best - xda-developers

Two requests add the clear all in recent apps and maybe a USB tether widget or notification toggle?

Tweak packs bother me. I've tried many different ones over the years and have never seen any benefit. No speed ups, no battery life increases, nothing, so no comadose, sorry.

I don't use USB tethering, so definitely no widget and it doesn't appear that Samsung included any code for a USB Tethering toggle, so that's out of the question as well as I'm not a programmer meaning that I can't write a toggle myself to add.

As for clear all recents, it's not a feature I use, but I believe the underlying code is already in place if I can figure a way to enable it. If you install the 'task manager' app that came with the stock ROM, you'll get a button bar across the bottom of the recents page with a clear all button among others. I am not sure if this functionality is included in the SystemUI or if it's solely provided by the task manager. If it's task manager provided, then it won't be added but if the code is in the SystemUI, I may be able to get it working.

EDIT: The in-built clear recents functionality is part of the task manager apk as far as I can tell so I will not be implementing that either. I may add an option to re-install the task manager in the next release.

I've noticed performance boosts, other than that not much.

and thanks for responding! I much prefer your ROM to others. I was just asking about these because you were modeling after aosp and I quite liked those parts to it.

Sorry again for asking do you know how to add carrier \ Wi-Fi name on the pull down?

thanks again!!

love the ROM!

Actually, straight up AOSP doesn't have a clear recents button. That's something the AOSP based ROMs add in (I have a Nexus 7 running stock KitKat for reference).

I can probably put the carrier name back in the tray. I took it out because it was originally positioned in the drag handle which is all wrong but shouldn't be difficult to move to the correct position. I don't believe I can put the Wi-Fi network name in there, though.

Oh and see the attached for a peek at one of the things I've been working on for the next release. See if you can spot the differences.

OK, as a followup on the carrier label in the notification tray: not gonna happen. The code that Samsung uses to put the carrier label in the tray puts it on top of everything rather than underneath everything like AOSP. So if I position the carrier label at the bottom (where it belongs), it overlaps notifications, etc. when they scroll that low or when the tray is closed. I can position the carrier label in the tray itself and it will go underneath any notifications in the tray but then it doesn't sit at the bottom of the tray like it should. I may come back to this later on but for now, I'm going to skip it because I feel like it's not really necessary for me to remind myself what carrier I'm on every time I open the tray (especially when the carrier label is, in fact, on the lock screen).

Could you get rid of the ascending ringtone? And add the option to change or add apn / mmsc in the network settings? Great rom BTW!

I have no need to add/change system-wide APN/MMSC settings, so that one's out. The increasing ringtone is annoying, though. I'll give it a shot.

Thanks man! I mainly thought that by adding the carrier label to the pulldown it would add the name of your current Wi-Fi.

And having the Wi-Fi name in the pulldown would be great for me. that's all.

I appreciate your work! Super stoked for 2.3!!

Edit: if I were to choose the tw messaging app do I need tw installed?

Any having issues with flashlight turning itself on? A couple times I've put my phone in it's case and when I take it out later it's hot and flash is on. I don't think I'm hitting anything but just curious

TW what? Conquest is just a heavily themed/modified TouchWiz ROM. The TW messaging app works just fine on it (as far as I can tell).

That's strange. I've never had that happen... Anybody else have this issue? I can always remove the flashlight code if necessary.

There was actually a flashlight toggle already included in the base ND8 code, it's just not enabled by default and doesn't work quite as well as the one included in Conquest.

Also, another sneak peek of the next release is attached to this post.

haven't had that problem yet.

as for the sneak peak does that mean no ribbon
... :'(

sad face.... OK .... is there anyway to add it back as an optional,

Without a lot of code modification, there is no way to add an option to enable/disable the native 'ribbon' toggles; for instance, they use the same dimensions as the full quick settings panel so the way the code is now, there would be three toggles in the ribbon. There are also a few other limitations to this, but that's just an example. It's not something that I need to use so I am not going to spend the time adding the code to the system.

As an alternative, you can install "Notification Toggle" from the Play Store.

Of course, you could also decompile the SystemUI apk and edit the code to make it work the way you want it to or stick with the current version of Conquest if it works well for you.
