Root [Virgin Mobile] 3 more days till Gs3! And rooting!

Is it possible to move the location of the Dropbox directory? I'd love to have it on my SD card instead of...wherever it is now...

[edit] Hmmm. Dropbox might only be a 'viewer' on android? No files stored locally--unless downloaded, I think...

What can be--or should be--moved to an SD card from internal memory. I'm coming from my old Optimus V--where most (all?) of my apps were Link2SD'd. I've already moved my Titanium Backups to the SDcard, as well as the nandroids...

Anything else?

I was in a different part of town yesterday, and actually saw my "LTE" indicator lit. Is that the same as 4G? For some reason I didn't think Sprint/VirginMobile had that capability around here... Anyone else see the LTE/4G indicator on VirginMobile in their area?

Yup. Same thing (at least in this case). They are expanding 4g all the time.

I also came from an ov. You shouldn't need to move anything, as there is plenty of internal memory. It's like throwing away shoes that are two sizes too small and getting proper ones.

I've not been able to connect to the Play Store for a couple of hours.... Anyone else? (Just paid for an app that can't arrive!)

Weird. I got my Win 8 lappie to recognize my S3, but my Win 7 Desktop fails. Is it a KitKat thing? (Running Carbon 4.4.2)

I downloaded and installed the USB driver. Even tried Kies.... (Hope THAT wasn't a mistake!). Kies couldn't connect either...

Any suggestions welcome!

Connecting to kies itself should be fine, just if you ever backed ur phone up on it before Roms and flashing and Knox and all that then don't restore using it just in case

Also since ur custom Roms usually running the most current stuff you shouldn't see it but if a phone update appears in kies don't allow it to push to the device, usually u need to click for it to push so u should be fine

As for original question idk why windows 7 doesn't see your device, I haven't connected in awhile but i m fairly certain my windows 7 PC immediately shows sph-l710 or sch or whatever this model is lol Samsung confuses me with all that lol

On other devices I've owned that had a similar issue the resolve to it was fairly simple, have a stock based ROM on and plug the phone in without the drivers installed, should do everything needed, is install drivers, then restore a backup of us ROM cm or whatever and do the same, as ive noticed the stock ROM seems to install all drivers needed for device and cm Roms seem to install all drivers needed for adb, basically cm and cm based Ines sometimes only seem to install drivers for connecting in a way developers use more often the most casual users

Try a different usb port and/or cord.

There's nothin' wrong with the cable--every other machine I've used it on has been fine. And the Win 7 machine is seeing the samsung--just not specifically the MTP part...

I've been Googling the issue--and there are plenty of posts from people who have spent dozens of hours trying to solve this. None of the suggestions I've seen have worked for me yet...

While I'm waiting for the dust to settle over at Carbon-ROM (they're moving servers), anyone have a favorite kernel they like to use with KitKat...? ;-)
