Virgin mobile 3G issues & settings help needed

I am using my HTC Desire on virgin mobile and quite often find that it reports an HSPDA connection but no data appears.

I checked the APN settings and I did not have proxy or port number, I now put in 193.30.166.4:8080.

So I have 2 questions

Firstly what are the correct complete set of setting for virgin internet and MMS on Desire?

Secondly will these settings help solve the intermittant data issue, if not what will?
