Root [Virgin Mobile] A question about custom themes.

Please excuse my naivete, but are themes restricted by manufacturer version hardware? So I have the VM S III, would it matter if say I installed a theme from Foxhound which seems to focus on the i9300 hardware version of the S III, would that cause problems on the VM S III? I am pretty sure they all have the same screen\icon sizes and what not.

More or less I am just curious if there is a history of Themes for one hardware version of the same phone bricking another version of hardware. (Like if flashing an S III Verizon HW version theme on our VM S III HW version has any effect) I am willing to be a guinea pig as long as there is no history of this kind of thing bricking a phone.

Yea I'm not 100% sure so you'll deff wanna make a backup first, but as long as the theme doesn't modify things to a crazy extent

Example of my thought: just changing icons, colors, locations of icons, etc, etc should be fine, if the theme injects things like menus for specific things related to specific versions it would be 50/50, if it did run fine the injected menus probly wouldn't function at all or may even cause a com. Crash

All and all tho as long as its a theme for whatever chooser you have as well as a theme for your device It should work lol should

Yeah a theme usually shouldn't brick your phone... It just usually just modifies systemui... So if anything you'll get a systemui crash or other force closes... I would nandroid back up to be safe... You might even be able to save yourself by flashing the ROM file again if anything goes wrong.
