Ok, it is uploading to my account at Android File Host, it'll take a while tho, I'll post the link when it's done and md5 verified...
On a different note, how can I re-root this? odin the newest philz and flash the supersu 1.99 zip again? I found that Kies flashed the tar replacing my philz with the stock recovery, so I'm assuming it will work like rooting 4.3

Yes, it will work exactly like 4.3. Just flash philz, check the reroot option, reboot, update superSU from play store

So will this be able to be flashed over the Sprint bootloader? So if I have ND8 will I be able to flash this through Odin and have the VM NDC variant?
It was my understanding that as long as you are not going from a Knox boot loader to a non-Knox boot loader you should be fine to flash whatever without bricking your device.

That is the consensus. I'm going to try it as soon as I get off work if no one else does first lol. And if it doesn't work and I break my wife's phone, then I'll be sleeping on the couch haha. The things I do for you guys! ! !

kies put my phone into odin mode and all it says is "downloading"... do i leave it like this? idk what to do.

Is rhe bar moving on your phone like it's flashing? If you don't want the update, just pull the usb cord if it's not actually flashing anything

Then just let it continue. If you're on stock recovery, it will flash fine

Sweet. With this, I am officially giving up on creating a custom updater, and no point in trying to patch up the system to show VMU instead of XAS in Kies, either. Good job!
@jdsingle76: Were you ever able to get your kitchen figured out? It shouldn't be difficult to create an update zip from this for anybody who's on ND8 already and doesn't want to try to flash the bootloader.

ive been running the sprint update since it came out and everything works fine. there's a lot of support on the inter-webs (roms, themes, kernel, etc.) why wait? everyone wants a VM build, WHY?
