Root [Virgin Mobile] Boy am I screwed

Boy am I screwed thought I backed up but didnt and now it wont read my Sd card where I have Rom and google app. I have a virgin mobile Samsung Galaxy S3. I was using Team Win Recovery. Got as far as putting in my twrp and now like i said phone doesnt recognize my card. Anyone please help? Or am I screwed?

You might be getting confused because there is an "sdcard" partition on the internal memory, and a storage/sdcard1 partition that is your actual sdcard. There is a box at the top of the install zip screen where you can switch between the two.

That being said, you should switch to philz in order to flash all of the available ROMs for our phone. You can download a recovery.zip and install it from your current recovery. Once you flash a custom recovery through odin, you shouldn't need to use odin ever again, unless of course you really mess up your phone.

You will want to use Odin v. 3.07. Also, if you tried TWRP 2.6.3.1, it doesn't work very well for a lot of users and will fail to mount/recognize internal and external memory. Definitely go with Philz, and like I mentioned, use Odin v. 3.07.

Dont know if im dumb or what I downloaded everything that you suggested phone is still on Team Win Recovery it has install wipe backup restore mount settngs advance and reboot on it. Only thing i can get it to read is usb-otg I have cm-11-20140210-SNAPSHOT-M3-d2spr and gapps-kk-20140105 when I run these it says fail. Wish I would have left phone alone.

When using Odin, did you uncheck the Auto Reboot option when trying to push the tar for Philz? If not, the phone will reboot too early in the process and your current recovery will remain intact. If done properly, it should take right at two minutes for the green "Pass" message and then you should be able to boot into your new recovery. Also, if you are using TWRP 2.6.3.0, that version cannot flash anything for Android 4.4.x (KitKat) as it is not compatible.

Okay Downloaded Odin unchecked like you said, went to area pda I found the the philz file you suggested. It said it is invalid philz_(touch_6.15.7-d2lte.tar.md5 is invalid + It doesnt recognize my phone being plugged in any more. Is there any other roms or anything I can use with that twrp to get my phone back? Or anyway to get it off there remember I erased everything I believe. Sincerely Lost in Android world

Okay thanks to Stuckn im a little closer to fixing this Im finally in download mode on phone. I have Odin 3.07 the philz file did not flash in odin though philz touch 6.15.7-d2lte.tar.md5. any suggestions?

I'm at work right now on Tapatalk, so hopefully someone can find the older links for Philz-I think trying one of the d2spr versions like 6.0.7.9 might be a better starting point. If this doesn't get resolved in the next few hours, have patience, once I'm at home in front of my computer I can give better assistance. Will follow progress through the rest of the day as well!

Thankzzzz Struckn you da man! Feeling a little more confident each time.

When you flash it like struckn stated make sure you uncheck auto reboot pull usb cable out and pull battery out and put the battery back in then boot in to recovery

You're welcome. Next time you're in download mode we need to know if you have Knox bootloader or not, so if you would write down all the lines of script that ate on that specific screen. We may need to have you use Odin to push a stock tar file to get a working ROM on your phone, so the Knox info is critical. In the meantime, if someone could link both the MG2 stock file and the MK5 tar file that would be great. Once those links are up, download both files but don't do anything else with them.

Do you mean product name Sph-L710
Custom Binary Download Yes (2 counts)
current binary custom
system status custom
Qualcomm secure boot:enable
warranty bit 1
Bootloader ap swrev 1
If this isnt it maybe after the tar is downloaded?

That was the info I needed, so what this indicates is that you do have Knox. Nothing to worry about there, but it does mean you can only push the MK5 file, not the MG2 file. Did you wipe your system while in recovery initially, when trying to flash CM11?

Yeah I did so did I totally screw it up and what should i put in odin first? So should i flash that mk5 then waiting for you to say what to do.

I will be home from work in about an hour, so just hang tight. If you have found the MK5 return to stock tar file (thread author is @lordmage) then download that file to your computer, and I will let you know when I am at my computer at home.

OK, home from work and on my laptop. In case you haven't found and downloaded it yet, here is the thread for the stock MK5 tar file:

I think we are going to want to just return you to stock, and then re-root, with custom recovery, and then get you up and running on CM11 if that is the ROM you desire (two thumbs up for CM11 for sure, I also highly, highly recommend Carbon, it is my personal favorite).
