Virgin mobile Canada has the best smart phones, why not USA?!

They are not associated with each other. They only share the name. And I think VM Canada is gsm so buying their phone won't work.

i was looking at there specs as well, there all listed as GSM and HSPA or whatever that one is, but i personally dont like any of those phones anyway lol we can get the wildfire s here, and the only other one was the lg eclypse with its single core 1ghz cpu, but i hate slide out keyboards and theres new touchscreen lg optimus elite even tho its only 800mhz cpu that just appeared on VM US site, id personally go with my triumph over all of these, maybe until i get the cash for the evo lol

i also didnt seem to see any internal memory stats on the canada site, found them on lg's site tho, the eclipse has 512mb internal and comes with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and the optimus elite has 512mb internal and comes with 2.3.7 Gingerbread

I believe Virgin Mobile Canada and Virgin mobile are related, as they share the same logo. But if you look at the smartphone plans you'll see that the cheapest one starts at $50 a month. Also, id assume reception is only available in canada. Virgin Mobile Canada is pretty much a Sprint Canada in terms of phones and plan pricing.

Virgin Mobile USA is not associated with any of the other VM carriers outside the USA. They are owned by Sprint, the others are not. Same name, same logo, different companies. Yeah, I can understand the confusion.

You can't get a phone from VM Canada and use it on VM USA, sorry.

Also, I am moving this to the VM section. :)

Building on what agentc13 has said...

There are eight different wireless communications services providers worldwide that offer service under the Virgin Mobile brand. None of them are related to any other. They are owned and operated independently - there is no co-ordination among them of any kind. The only thing they have in common is the brand name, which they all pay Virgin Enterprises Limited for the right to use.

Different management, different mobile network technologies, different spectrum bands, different plans/rate structures, different selections of phones, different color carpet at HQ, etc.

Some are joint ventures between Virgin Group and a local wireless network owner, some are not. Even among those joint ventures where Virgin Group does have an ownership stake, there is still no coordination.

I find it unfair how They have the Galaxy Nexus and other high end devices on there shelves while we have to deal with these low end devices and this crappy Intercept. :(

Move to Canada. Also VM Canada is not prepaid, so you may as well be comparing VMUSA to Verizon or AT&T.

You can always choose to go to another mobile carrier that offers the Galaxy Nexus.

huh?? what do you mean Virgin mobile are SO prepaid...they are all about pay as you go...lol they have been my carrier for the last ten years. LOVE em' ^-^

VMUSA now has the iPhone 4 and 4s as well as the HTC Evo so this entire thread is pretty much moot now.
