Virgin mobile Canada has the best smart phones, why not USA?!

The Nexus is a GSM device if I'm not mistaken.

Sprint and Verizon Gnex are CDMA. The unlocked Gnex is GSM (for AT&T, T-Mobile etc.)

I'm seriously considering picking up the unlocked Gnex. Serious to the point of moving some cash over to my checking and buying that sucker tomorrow to use on T-Mobile prepaid. I love my little OpV, but I've had it with VM.

If I hadn't just bought an LG Optimus Elite and an Asus Transformer I would probably be in line behind you Petrah.

I've been thinking about going to T-Mobile and the Galaxy Nexus, I really like the sound of Jellybean. While I think I could live with the 100 minutes a month (using GrooveIP as needed), from what I've seen the service on TM isn't any better than VM service -- especially when talking TM Prepaid.

Beyond that, I have to wonder about battery life on the Nexus, particularly since you can't change the battery and I don't like that it doesn't have a microSD card slot. I just don't see that much advantage over the Evo V. Is there something I'm missing?

You can indeed change the battery on the Galaxy Nexus. I've spent the better part of the day watching vids on this phone where they complain about the backplate (nothing wrong with it, just a pain to snap back on)... there's a Samsung Li-Ion 1750 mAh battery sitting pretty as you please right in there. Above average battery drain for a 4G phone is commonplace. :D

As for the non SD card, I think I can live with that. We've got PC's everywhere in the house (my boyfriend is a professional programmer by trade) and a couple of laptops... so I'll not have any issues backing up my phone onto a computer.

I purchased the phone a few hours ago. Almost threw-up at spending 350 bucks, but I feel somewhat better now. :p

Edit: Forgot to add; I've also been reading about the differences in radio with this phone between the CDMA version and the HSPA+ GSM version. The GSM version has a radio far better than the CDMA one, so I'm not all that worried about the service. Their service has got to be far better than the non working 3G I'm currently getting from VM USA.

We're derailing the thread... guess we should take this elsewhere.

I switched to T-Mobile (HTC One S) and get way better coverage than I did with VM. But that will depend on where you live and each carrier's coverage there.
