After a few bootloops I've given up on trying to freeze much of the samsung bloat, will wait on that front for a legit rom, but in the meantime an already great app Greenify offers a great way (donation version only, at this time unfortunately) to "hibernate" these apps. It's not the same as freezing or other methods, as if the app is launched it operates regularly, but then is hibernated shortly thereafter. until recently, this killed push notifications - but no longer! any app using GCM(most of push apps) automatically is popped out of hibernate to activate push notifications, then hibernated again. great save of battery use, in particular this allows for spam sync apps to be kept on your device without battery loss, and makes keeping sync on a more battery-safe proposition. seen significant gains so far!
I'm just now testing the gains of greenifying maps, g+, fbook messenger, and all the samsung bloat, will see how it goes.
