Root [Virgin Mobile] Help me return to stock and not have a modded device status

ertpecs

Newbie
Hey guys, I would like to return to completely stock, and I would like to remove "modded" from device status under settings. I'm rooted with the stock touchwiz or whatever it is and cwm recovery. I followed this guide here and used odin http://androidforums.com/virgin-mob...9490-guide-rooting-recovery-galaxy-s3-vm.html. I've got a stock image from when I first put cwm on there minus a few bloat apps that I can restore and make a bone stock image. I saw someone mention using samsung kies but I have kies air on my phone and I don't see anything that looks like I need. Thanks in advance.

Basically I want to put the stock recovery back on there and unroot the phone. Can someone walk me through it please?

What Kies version did you use?

When I plugged in my phone I got:

Your device's current firmware version is not support to update firmware via Kies

*Current firmware version: PDA:MG2 / PHONE:MG2 / CSC:MG2 (VMU)

Guess it wont work with newest MG2 phones?

MG2 will not work with kies due to it not being in there archive. MD7 is current according to kies at the moment.

using kies on the pc or mac with a bootable phone you can reinitialize the phone to bone stock.

Can you elaborate on this? I have only seen bits of info on doing this on our phones. I am a little put off by the need for some zip file in addition to Kies.

In my case, I have a stock GS3 with Virgin Mobile. I've installed CWM and rooted it. If I want to go back to 100% stock out of the box, how do I do that?

Please don't tell me "Kies"

I'd like some elaboration from anyone if possible. Or a link to a step by step if one exists.

JupiterOne's Link goes to here:
Directory Listing of /android/download/

Looking in his "vmu_gs3_stock-recovery_flash_reset" is appears there is the stock recovery.img and the needed scripts to reset the counter (Status).

I created my own set of 3 flashable recoveries: g60madman, Touch CWM (pulled the recovery.img from Odin and made Flashable, and Stock Recovery (just recovery no reset from JupiterOne's). Ive only tested the Touch CWM one though.
