Root [Virgin Mobile] is making a rom this easy

http://www.droidviews.com/create-flashable-zip-cwmtwrp-backup/

I was thinking about making a nj3 flashable zip and was wondering is this the right way to make one out of a backup
Yes that will work. But its very basic, and depends on the meta-inf file you get. Test it a few times first. You know philz touch recovery has an option in it to clone your ROM backups into zips built right in. Much easier.
And that isn't really making a ROM, its just copying your current setup. There are some tutorials out there on actually building a ROM. It takes time, and some coding knowledge.

Thanks iam willing to learn just got me hp stream laptop to play around with. Learning the basics is where iam at now.

Edit tried making a update zip in philz recovery and it just hangs on adding system I tried 2 times same thing

It takes quite a while in philz. It has to be a philz backup you're using to make it also. Good luck learning bro, sincerely. Everyone starts somewhere.
Take it slow, read and re read. Have fun! You'll get it.
