Root [Virgin Mobile] Looking for an older stock rom

I'm currently using a stock 4.1.2 rom. I have had this since I got the phone and it has started to run sluggish. I wanted to wipe and start over but I can't seem to find a rom I can use. I flashed Philz then tried a couple.

Thankfully I made a nandroid backup because at one point a rom/tethermod combofrose my phone. So 6 hours later I am giving up and the phone is back to the way it was this morning. Basically I am looking for a rom that everything works. It also must be capable of tethering. Other than that I really don't care. I'm not terribly into modding. The only reason I rooted in the first place was so I could tether and use titanium backup.

Heck at this point I would be overjoyed if someone could just point me in the direction of a stock 4.1.2. I know that one works for me.

Which modem are you at? Isn't this the stock version that the GS3 comes with?

mk5 now. I remember rooting it out of the box and I never did anything else with it. I played around with custom roms on my previous phone (evo3d) but never really found anything i liked so I didn't even bother installing one here. The rooting was to remove bloatware and to tether.

I flashed a knoxless MK5 at some point this weekend because it was required by a rom I tried. I was about to give up and just go back to the way it was (yay nandroid) then I found Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 for sprint. Everything so far seems to be working except for the fact my phone says its sprint. To be honest I think I'm ok with the way things are right now.

Quick question. Could I have just reset my phone thru the settings and saved myself a ton of grief? Or would that have just bricked my phone? If I could just do a factory reset, is that still possible if I restore my nandroid backup from before I started messing with things even though I flashed a new modem? The backup still functions perfectly and definatly saved my ass more than once with me mucking around with things I have very little understanding of.

P.S. you can also still use usb tether if your rooted on stock 4.4 =P

But just play around with some roms and you will be happy.
