Root [Virgin Mobile] Massive Battery Drain on rooted stock TW 4.4.2! Why?

Ive done everything possible! black wallpaper turned everything off (wifi) disable google now stuff (ok detection) and also with s-voice! i went to developer options and did 4 processes, custom kernel, debloated, brightness as low as possible! GPS off still getting like a few hjours battery. With my c-rom i was getting 18+ hrs now im lucky to get 3 why?

Did you ODIN the new NCD stock rom and then re-root? Or did you do something else?

hmmm. odd, not thinking it will help much. However, it wouldn't hurt for you to actually ODIN the NDC which was intended for the VM version.

Also, I would throw Philz back on it and just do a full wipe (prepare it for a new rom), even though ODIN is suppose to clear everything. I would just do that first and then ODIN the NDC to see if you get better luck.

I read that there is a camera bug in 4.4.2 that causes severe battery drain to some users. If you goggle 4.4.3 you will see it listed as a fix.

This may not be your problem but might be worth looking at.

Not until/unless Samsung releases one. However, many AOSP ROMs are now 4.4.3 based.

There are a few battery draining Samsung apps. Freeze or uninstall them and that should sort you out.
Just Google safe to remove touchwiz galaxy s3.

I did exactly that using the list from here...

While some of the files are different in the VM 4.4.2 it'll give you a good idea of what you can remove. I ended up with 30 or 40 apps frozen in Titanium.

I had this problem when I first got my S3 and put Cyanogen on it. After a little digging I found out it was a known issue with the EMail app, even when it's not even configured. I used Titanium Backup to freeze it and everything's been fine since.

So glad it was such an easy fix...I would've had to get rid of the phone otherwise.
