Root [Virgin Mobile] Need help with possible brick

Hi guys, I'm having some trouble here and did do lots of reading before finally deciding to post. Maybe I missed something?

I think I resolved the brick issue and now I'm just running into the problem of finding a ROM to put on this thing. I'm able to flash Sprints ND8 4.4 with obviously no data or sms but I can not find a stock VM ROM. The ones I did run across were .tar and they would either fail or say "MD5 hash value is invalid". Ive tried factory resets from the recovery and it always ends up in just hanging at the "Samsung Galaxy S III" screen.

Ive been at it for almost 6 hours and would greatly appreciate any info!

*Update*

As I said before, Sprints ROM works with only data being the issue. Which affects mms unless I'm using wifi. So is there a fix to get the data to work?

Factory reset only removes what you've added, it doesn't restore the original ROM.

Go to SamMobile Firmwares and look for the correct ROM (it's the stock ROM from Samsung), or go to the XDA forum and see if someone's written a ROM for the phone that would meet your needs.

Hey thanks for the quick reply. SamMobile Firmwares only has ROMs for Sprint. I would use Sprints if I could get the data issue resolved. I think it would be much easier to resort back to a stock VM ROM. I tried the one over at Rwilco12s Android Repository but I keep getting the "MD5 hash value is invalid."

Have you looked through the "Android 4.4.2 VM SPH-L710" thread?

It might have what you're looking for including stock .tar files and basic instructions.

Did u make a backup . and can I ask how did you flash the build

No backup, new phone and didn't have anything on it. I didn't realize, at the time, that I might need a backup to keep the phone in a working state. And I it started with me trying to flash CM 11 (which didnt work). That led to the screen talking about using Kies for Firmware Recovery. Kies didnt recognize the device and so far the only ROM ive been able to get on it was the Sprint 4.4 nd8. But to answer your question, I used odin .. it was a one click.

Alright I think everything is working fine. Big thanks for the help! One last question, I flashed mopedryder's universal APN fix but seen theres different ones (Boost, VM ...). I noticed when I flashed CM11, before flashing the APN fix, I was on Sprint's network (then flashed Boost before realizing there was a VM one). Is there any one I should use in particular? Any one better than the other or should I stick with VM since that is my carrier?

If you are on VM then you must use the VM APNs. If you use the Boost VPNs you will lose LTE data (don't ask me how I know :) )

i wonder if he could just flash our stock NDC tar to get up and running and use the fix on playstore if his network is saying samsung instead virgin ?

Problem resolved, after 2 days I learned that after you flash up to ND8 bootloader you cant go back to MK5 / MK3. Most of the stock ROMs I came across had these older bootloaders which resulted in a brick. So for anyone who have flashed the Sprint ND8 version this will work for you

[FULL RESTORE][TAR] Stock NDC Odin FLASHABLE [4.4.2] [BOOST/VM] - xda-developers

I personally had to wipe my data do to apps constantly crashing. After a days use I've noticed a significant difference in 4G range .. I seem to get it more than I was.

CM11 personally looked like trash on my s3, it ran smoother but the resolution just seemed too low and looked blurred. Stock ROM looked more crisp. Not to mention the pull down status bar thing is barely able to be seen when out in the sun.
