Root [Virgin Mobile] Now that CM has incorporated VM S III's into their official ROMs...

Now that CM has incorporated VM S III's into their official ROMs, is there a forum that discusses the bugs and issues with the ROM. As in, is there a forum dedicated to VM S III issues specifically, or are the forums a jumbled mess of people asking about all S III's from all carriers? I tried to find one on XDA, but there is only the Sprint forum, and it only has a few sprinklings of VM dedicated posts strewn about a sea of Sprint discussions.

Also, just wanted to check to confirm, I can just flash each nightly over the last without an issue (relatively of course) along with the APN fix for now, right? No need to format anything, correct?

That's all correct. If you have an up-to-date philz recovery, to can flash without any modifications, and the flash the APN fix.

The sprint version is the same hardware as ours, so they will share most bugs. I generally lurk on the sprint XDA forum, and occasionally chime in. I doubt we will get our own forum.

And to answer your question about s3 forums, your pretty much in the only place you need to be lol, although this isn't specifically VM s3's with CM but generally just all VM s3 stuff, since CM is one of the most popular Roms you should find pretty much all you need, including Roms for our device that arnt CM yet still highly rated as carbon or liquid smooth

This is the virgin mobile s3 forum, all things VM s3, this site has separate areas for VM,sprint, boost, att, etc.

This site has many users that bounce between here and sites such as XDA
Only true difference iI've seen is here asking questions isn't really frowned upon like they are sometimes at XDA with the typical your a noob responses lol

This is the site I originally picked when I got my first android single reason..... The community
I'm a member of XDA,android central, here, and 1 or 2 more sites, this site is the only one that gets a bookmark on my phone lol due to how awesome the community here is

ha I already did it and it worked, with the apn fix as well, did it for the sprint logo on status bar

Of course it worked lol its the same d2spr type its always been, so if you modify the asserts it'll still load fine

The big news is that Cm created the d2lte unified builds and so far all other popular Roms have been right behind them doing exactly the same thing meaning no more need for the extra step of asserts editing

And I run xposed framework so my phone says whatever I want in carrier logo areas of lock screen or notification bar, which I always just leave blank

yeah cm11 snapshot m3 is really really good, in terms of overall ui, but no voicemail and other sysytem applications to manage things like voicemail other than the dailer or mms which sends you an notification, but other than that its real good, but i still have a hard time finding roms that arent popular that specify if they have a bootloader or not, even when searching the entire 500 pages of comments via searching the thread on xda.

Since all versions of our device have Knox, if its listed as being specifically for the 710 it most likely has no boot loader unless specifically mentioned, but reading is always good, if all else fails ask in the Roms thread or in a thread dedicated to that specific rom

If all the above fails for ya, lime no one on XDA answers, u see nothing in threads over there and you also see no threads on here about it as well, if that th case then don't feel bad and simple make a thread asking about the ROM, in order to keep things orderly tho and to not clog the forums be sure to search both there and here first before making a new thread

I will say this once and for all because I can't take it any more:

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A ROM OR KERNEL WHICH CONTAINS A BOOTLOADER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE ONLY THING THAT CONTAINS A BOOTLOADER IS FIRMWARE FROM THE OEM, AND THIS WILL NEVER COME AS A FLASHABLE ZIP, BUT INSTEAD AS A FILE WHICH NEEDS TO BE PUSHED THROUGH ODIN!!!!!!!!!!

Also I can't see the title of this thread without hearing it to the tune of now that we found love by heavy d.

Damn that's old school! I think I was in eighth grade when that came out, and that was 1990. Total metalhead, but heavy d was kind of cool, especially then (RIP, for sure).
