Root [Virgin Mobile] Pacman 4.4.2

I haven't tried this. I know alot of people have been waiting for it, but I just saw the thread updated at XDA.

[ROM][OFFICIAL][KitKat 4.4.2][d2lte] PAC-man AIO [AOSP]
[ROM][OFFICIAL][KitKat 4.4.2][d2lte] PAC-man AIO [AOSP] - xda-developers

First build failed just FYI. PAC fanboys have been losing their minds asking for ETA's and now they are losing their minds over "Where is the build for such-and-such device?" (Several other builds besides d2lte failed, due to commits being merged from CM last night.)

Sorry im a PAC fanboy, But I can wait Patiently. Maybe someone SO AWESOME, SO KEWL, SO AHHHHHHMAZING LIKE MopedRyder wants to convert it to our device. I have carbon for now and I am content.

When a build finishes, i will go ahead and do that for you, unless someone beats me to it

offtopic: anyone play games on their phone and notice that pure CM performs WAY better than Carbon in terms of smoothness, consistency, frames, etc. All around really. Using Stock or DKP kern with same settings

Completey agree. Time to get a new kernal!

Not knocking fanboys buddy! Some of the stuff I've seen posted online just blows me away though, just makes me want to rant.

For those who are interested in flashing this ROM, the nightly from 3/4 did build successfully, and it incorporates the d2vmu addition to the device check in the assert lines. Just download and flash with the APN fix of choice, no need to tinker with the ROM zip file unless you want to remove some apps you don't use like I do!

What didnt work?? MMS?? Camera??

I don't follow your question. Are you referring to the first build that failed on Sunday night?

3/5 is astounding! Granted, I've only been on it for an hour, but damn. So many options, mods, and tweaks. It seems like most of v6 is in init.d and build.prop mod menus. That's right, there are menus baked in that let you pick from a long ass list of tweaks. No more copying scripts into init.d folders. I checked a box and got loopy smoothness (I haven't flashed loopy smoothness since GB, lol).

We'll see about stability and any bugs, but so far, its been fast, smooth, and solid.

It had me at the boot ani. It kept me with PAC pellets and performance control.

I'm on PAC 4.3 and have been waiting for this....

Do you guys think it will be safe to just wipe system and install PAC 4.4 over 4.3? Wanna try and avoid losing all my data again. Especially my conversations on Kik. :p

You can't dirty flash between Android version numbers, only on builds of the same Android version. 4.3 to 4.4 is a significant change regardless, so a clean install is a must.

Mobile data seemed to be broken. I did a full wipe, installed just the rom and APN fix, booted, but no data.

I tried a full wipe, then installing just the ROM. I let it settle in for 10 min, then flashed the APN fix. I got LTE working. I'm going to install gapps, dkp, and restore my apps. We'll see how it goes. I am hopeful.

Edit: I installed dkp and gapps, and I still have LTE. I am getting two or three "com.android.phone has stopped. Blame split screen" errors. After that, I lose LTE briefly, then get it back. I've seen that on other ROMs in the past, so hopefully it will get fixed.

LTE on the 3/6 version seems a little better. No more com.android.phone errors. I flashed ROM and APN fix, let it settle, then flashed gapps. At first I had no mobile data, but I went into the APN settings, and neither was selected. I selected the vm lte one, rebooted, and LTE popped right up.

I didn't flask dkp until I had all my apps restored and all my settings set up, because I saw PapaSmurf's warning on the dkp thread, so I wanted to do a nandroid first. I'm happy to say that dkp is working beautifully with PAC.

I would say that the 3/6 build is ready for prime time and is my new daily!

Edit: I spoke too soon. I lost mobile data while I was working out, and my phone spent an hour in deep sleep. Rebooting, re-checking the apn, and reflashing the APN didn't help.

I have identified the source of my confusion. On my d2vmu, if I flash any of the nightlies (3/5, 6, or 8) without the APN fix zip, I get phone FC's. If I flash the APN fix at the same time I don't get those. Either way I get working LTE. The problem is that I don't get 3g in either case. I just realized that this was the problem. It took a while because I haven't seen this behavior on any other ROMs. Usually if I have LTE, I have 3g as well. I'm going to try some of MopedRyder's old APN fixes to see if I can get 3g working without LTE.

I love this ROM, and I'm going to do whatever it takes to use it.

i just had a similar issue with CM but seemed backwards, are you using the newer Universal fix from Moped? cause i was thinking of going back to the good old fix 2 that always seemed to work to see if that helped

i installed it as i always do, seemed a little slow, then installed gapps seemed slower, then when i added the universal apn fix everytime i clicked i got a .com error, so far i reinstalled without the fix to check it out

i did download the pacman rom tho, i wanna try it out but i think ill wait to see if you come across anything first as i need my device for work lol

Can you post the direct link to it, I having an incredible hard time finding it!

I keep getting stuck in a bootloop. any help??

Few questions, did you use the correct file, of course its the d2lte but it should have been one that simply has zip at the end, also it should be around 190 something mb

Second if coming from a different ROM did you clean install or try to dirty flash?

Third are you using philz touch recovery?
