Root [Virgin Mobile] Persistent voicemail notification...

Okay, so I have this voicemail notification that refuses to disappear for days now, but I don't have any unheard or stored voicemails... I rooted and flashed the stock ROM early on, so I don't know if its an issued with my phone, or because I rooted and reflashed the stock ROM...

I'm not sure which app you're referring to. I did go and wipe the data from the visual voicemail app since it's the only "voicemail" app in the list, but it also doesn't seem hace and update to it to begin with...

Yeah, I checked it out, but it says that the app is up to date... I really don't know what else to do right now, It just won't disappear...

Is there a chance you aren't connected to 3g/4g and haven't been since it started (only using wifi), because that could possibly be the reason if there is a voicemail but it is waiting for the data connection. I do remember this happening to me actually about a month ago. I don't think I really did anything to get it to go away, but it eventually did.

Is it constantly trying to get you to upgrade when the message pops up? If so select yes/automatic upgrades and go through that. When the option to sign up for a premium upgrade monthly subscription comes up go into the details and select cancel. That got rid of mine.

Guys I've tried everything you've suggested... I even uninstalled the visual voicemail app through titanium back up... The "New voicemails (1)" notifications does disappear after I wipe the data/cache of the "phone" app, but it comes right back after a reboot...:(

is there a folder called notifications on your device storage if so if there are files inside it that could explain the issue but i cant be to sure on this

I have the same problem the problem s with the "phone" app ,because if you hold down on the notification and click app details it leads your to there.

I switched to a new S3 from Amazon since they have it on special, and returned my old one for a full refund, but I got the same persistent voicemail notification in my new one... I didn't even flash the recovery or root the phone yet... I'm guessing it has nothing to do with the phone, but maybe a glitch in our Virgin Mobile voicemail service? I'm thinking that I'll give customer support a call and maybe ask them if they can reset the voicemail service or something...
