ok so i just got this phone on virgin mobile and the first thing i did was root and flash cm 10.1 ok, now i dont have 4g which is a known problem of cm on virgin mobile. now i can not for the life of me figure out how to go completely back to stock, as in rom, firmware, baseband, modem, ect.. ive tryed odin to get the modem back but i get errors and fails left and right. please help me.. if there were a tar. or zip. that had the firmware AND modem in it that would be great. im pretty sure i didnt fry my NAM in odin, i think the (write) errors are because of the file. any help would be GREATLY appreciated

If you rooted and flashed CM you didn't touch the modem, only / (root) and /boot (kernel). You could flash any of the 3 TW based ROMs on this forum to get close to stock (with root)

im not really sure i understand, when i was installing cm 10.1 i had to trade out modems with thw sprint firmware, so i know it was still the same modem as before but for whatever reason wasnt getting 4g. im sorry for being a noob at this phone lol, but could you please tell me what i need to do. ok, say i currently have cm flashed, ( from my understanding its sprint firmware ) what steps do i then take to get back to stock rom, firmware, and everything?

Ok I'll try to explain. The instructions on this forum to install CM10.1 were made for the MD7 versions of Virgin phones. The newest version like mine are MG2. MD7 came up with ICS bootloaders while the MG2 came with JB. In order to install CM10.1 you need JB bootloaders.
.
I'm on Sprint CM based ROMs without ever flashing any Sprint firmware, it was not needed. Only thing that needs "fixed" is some assert script code to overcome status 7 errors. There is a link in this forum on that..
.
If you followed the instructions on the CM10.1 install thread you only replaced the bootloaders and not the modem. Having MD4 bootloaders shouldn't impact anything now. Goto Settings > about and check the "baseband" entry. If it ends with MD7 or MG2 it's Virgin Mobile modems. If that is your case I see no reason any stockish ROMs on the forum wouldn't work fine.
.
I'll see about making an updated howto CM10 for MG2 series phones.

Ok I have a better understanding now, thank you. The only thing that had me puzzled is that i reverted back to stock and still wasn't picking up 4g like i was before ever rooting. But today I'm going to go some were were there is 4g, hopefully I'm picking it up now. If I'm still not I'm affraid I might have got the modems mixed up and left the sprint one were I was sopposed to replace it with the vm one. I will get back with you on that later. Thank you for all your help.
