Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] Always boots to recovery

So I've completely screwed my F3 somehow.
It always boots into cwm recovery no matter what I do.
ADB Sideload and Push both give errors(like "bad file descriptor" and "cannot stat-no status"
Loading the stock rom zip from micro sd card appears to work fine. It will then ask me if I want to repair root on the phone. Always boots back into recovery.
Any ideas?

The rom im trying is ls720v8 stock. I've tried a few others but after saying it installed it goes straight back to recovery. The recovery is cwm touch.

What recovery are you using? My suggestion is to wipe the device( Data, Cache, Dalvik, etc.) and then try flashing again.

I format everything before every attempt and wipe dalvik and regular cache.
It is unable to mount data before i hit "format /data and /data media", hitting "format /data" doesn't work. It is VM.

The method I see uses a windows installer.
Is there a zip file that will install from cwm?
This is what the windows installer shows.

Also I guess im not smart enough to follow the unbrick guide.
In LG flash tool it doesn't show an option for "manual mode". And I don't know where or what a kdz file is.

Well I'm in the same boat. I flashed a friends phone back to a stock V7 with CRM Touch. He did the OTA update and now it just boots into CMR no matter what. It was not a rooted ROM, but CMR was installed. When phone is off and you plug in USB... boots to CMR. When I press the key combo to get into Download Mode the only option is a hard reset. I can't get into the Download Mode to get the use the soft brick method.

any ideas?
thanx Jerr

I don't see anything in there I can do. The phone will only boot to CMR. It's not my phone. Mine is still on V5 because I hate this updated nonsense. He is a very impatient person and I assumed it would be fine because I didn't think it was rooted anymore after the factory reset.

I want to use the unbrick guide but it can't get into download mode. :-(

That guide is what should of been followed when you update a phone from ls720zv7 to ls720zv8 while rooted. It tells you what to do, and what not to do.

If you wish to follow the unbrick guide, to put the phone into download mode, remove any usb cable plugged in and turn the phone off.
After it's off, press and hold both volume up, and volume down buttons at the same time and plug in the usb cable into the phone.

The other option is since you can get into cwm, download and copy the ls720zv8 stock rom onto a sdcard. Put that sdcard into the phone and then install it in cwm. Make sure you factory wipe afterwards before you boot the phone into android.

I got that I was getting scolded. It was my fault for assuming the issue only happened on a rooted ROM.

I saw all kinds of options and I didn't see that one. It actually worked! Thank you SO much!

that didn't work. I was getting errors in CMR and the process never completed. The UNbrick did work. Thanx again!:)
