Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] Best Rom???

Alright. I'm running the stock rom with it rooted and I've customized it. Is the overclock kernel safe too use??? will everything still work??? Which is the best rom to install>??? or the best way to do more customization to the stock rom. I've done the notification bar so far.

What exactly are you looking for?

I've only gone so far as to try xclusive36's CM based Psycho Billy ROM. Note that all ROMs for the VM USA F3's are essentially modified versions of the V5 and V6 firmware. To that end, x also has made easily installable zips of lightly modded versions of the original firmware, odexed and deodexed. If you have gherkaul's CWMT installed, you can easily use them to go from V5 and V6 (and vice versa) without using the unbrick method.

If you want to mod the interface like crazy, go with the deodexed versions. Sharkhunter45 (?) also has a stripped ROM, called Solar. That one is odexed, I think. Odexed ROMs generally tend to be faster, but deodexed ones can be too, if allowed to settle a bit after booting up.

As for OCing, you're on your own. If you absolutely need the extra speed for your F3's CPU and GPU, then robaho's kernels are the best to use. Otherwise, steer clear if stability is a high priority. V2 has thermal protection to help reduce overheating when the oc speeds aren't needed by the phone. V4 is the fastest.

I've had my Event freeze a few times. No serious freezes, though. Mine still works well. I used it as a phone recently when I was playing around with xclusive36's CM Psycho Billy ROM. Will probably need it again when and if I get the V7 update on my F3. Hopefully V7 won't break root.

I hope the V7 update has the hidden menu. That was fun to mess with when I was using PB!
