I'm new to this forum as I just got this phone. I'm not a "noob" to Android phones. My previous devices were... LG Optimus V, Moto Triumph, HTC One V, and now this LGLS720. I've had custom roms on all and I'm looking forward to the development of of the latest edition to my digital family. I also have a Craig CMP 756 tablet running 4.2.2 rooted with Kingo Root. It only has the stock nandroid recovery, but it rooted successfully. With the help of all my "forum mates", I know I'll love this phone!

You'll definitely love this phone! :)

Sammyz has gotten the stock V5 and V6 firmware files, and the LG flash tool for Windows. Robaho has an overclock kernel, modded V6 update, wifi tethering app, and an upcoming workaround app for users on V6 that want to use the dialer codes to open up hidden menus.

There are several ROMs available, including one that backports some CyanogenMod features to the F3.

My favorite is that the F3 can handle huge, fast MicroSD cards (when properly formatted)! I have a Transcend Class 10 64 GB card that works nearly as fast as the internal memory. I have a 5 GB ext4 partition that is used for Link2SD. The main partition is formatted FAT32. GL2SD for large games. With those tweaks, the F3 can play with much bigger, more expensive phones. Myself, I'm on stock v6, Link2SD Titanium, CWMT, and GL2SD. I don't really feel the need to do some of the other stuff, but it's nice to know of them.

Saferoot is the best method for rooting this phone.

Thanks for the info for this phone. You were a big help with my old man's Kyocera Event. I hope I can get wifi tether working after all is said & done. I really miss my HTC One V running Slimbean 3.1. It was small, but mighty!
