Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] new Way to Root zv8 :D

dgo700

Newbie
I found a way to root the zv8 after towelroot and stumproot failed its in a different language but it works just follow the steps in this video.

Two days after getting this phone and updating to V8 I spent an entire night trying to root this damn thing, even attempted to do it manually on my own. You don't know shame until you've tried doing something for hours only to have a program written in Chinese manage to do it in a matter of minutes... It was a rather humbling experience.

Wow, Virgin Mobile is a b**** for making updates to prevent you from rooting. T-mobile and Metro PCS only made 1 root method stop working as they only released I think 3 updates for our phone. We've been using the same root method since 2013 which was our last update.

If you read the comments in this video. You see people saying virus/malware. Not sure if it's a false positive. So be on edge.

That's interesting, it's a good thing I got V6 when I bought my phone. I think 6 months ago.

If I was thinking about buying another one. Would version 8 be on it, instead?

I think so since its the newest version. The Virgin Mobile F3 has too many useless version updates its hard to keep track.

The root method in the video doesn't work, use stump instead

It worked just fine for me.

Comodo didn't pick anything up, regardless it's really just a one-off of a program, install it, do the deed, and uninstall. No point in keeping it around. Pretty much any exploit tool will be marked as some form of malware, it IS malicious software. Even SuperOneClick or whatever the hell it's called came up with an alert. AV's aren't some godly thing, they just catch things that you might not.
