Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] vm720 Hard Brick...

Pretty sure I'm hard bricked here... My kid put apps 2 sd on my phone and before I could mess with it, linked all then rebooted the damn thing... Now it's black screened with no DL mode (so no to KDZ). All I have is a black screen, and qualcomm hs-usb QD loader 9008 showing up when I connect USB to my computer. I have the qualcomm driver, but no clue what to do from here. My only ideas are to; send it out for jtag repair when someone figures out how, get some ideas for how to use QPST / encode .hex files, find another way to repair it, or use it as a clay pigeon for my new shotgun.
 
Try these steps.

If you perform a factory reset, all user applications and user data will be deleted. Please remember to back up any important data before performing a factory reset.
When you can't recall your unlock Pattern, PIN or Password:
1. Turn the phone off.
2. Press and hold the following keys for 5 seconds: Volume Down Key + Power/Lock Key .
3. Release the keys when prompted
4. Press the Volume Down Key to scroll to wipe data/factory reset. Then press the Power/Lock Key to select it.
5. Press the Volume Down Key to scroll to Yes -- delete all user data. Then press the Power/Lock Key to select it.
6. The phone will perform a factory reset.
7. Make sure that reboot system now is highlighted and press the Power/Lock Key to make the selection and reboot your phone.

I appreciate the help, but I have black screen. I tried to enter DL mode and nothing. It won't reset, and I need a guide like this only modified for our phones.
 
Did you ever figure out how to unbrick this phone? (lg optimus f3 virgin mobile) My phone just hard bricked a couple days ago form downloading a new firmware update and deleting some apps (phone has been having memory problems in the past.

it is very hard to hard brick a phone! go to the unbrick guide and it will restore your phone. I have used it manyyyyyy times!
 
Yeah, I've seen that guide and tried everything on it. The problem is that my phone would not turn on, wouldn't even go in download mode. I tried different button configurations different plugs and different chargers... Nothing worked.

did you do it exactly like i said to ? you have to remove the battery and leave it out. Some people say it works for them when they take it out and replace it. it fails every time for me. take the battery out, plug in the usb press and hole volume up only. If it doesnt do anything you dont have the proper drivers on your pc.
 
Yeah i did everything that guide told me even talked to the guy who created that thread. My sister has the same phone, i tried her battery and even plugged her phone in my computer which was recognized. But mine wasn't... Tried the volume up without battery and plugging in usb and with battery... nothing worked.
 
Did you ever get anywhere with this prob. Because I am in the same boat right now. I have the VM720 and it will not turn on period. I get the same weird name in devices as you too and I cant find a driver for it. I have all the right drivers for the phone but now it does not even show up as a phone when I plug it in.

1. Extract the BIN file(http://oudhitsquad.com/android/LGE/Firmware/LS720/LS720ZV5_00.zip)

2. Select port and ensure target dir is the same path where you extracted the BIN image in step 1.

3. select AP check and EMMC and click on Start. This should show Pass under AP & EMMC Boxes once its run

All the 3 should now say Pass!
