Root [Virgin Mobile] System Update!

So I recently rooted my Galaxy Victory and I just got a notification for a system update and I was wondering if I can update this while I'm rooted or not. If I can will I lose my root? Thanks and any help is apreciated! Btw I'm on the Victorious rom and I was also wondering what exactly this new update does. Oh and could I just go to the stock system, then flash the custom recovery and re root?
 
It can be flashed when rooted but not easily. The custom recoveries don't fully get along with the update so there has to be some editing done to make it work.

I'd just keep an eye on the following thread by rhbromax. He's pulling the useful parts and putting them in safe for custom recovery zips
