Help Virgin Splash?

EazySteve

So I picked one of these devices new and haven't activated it yet, but noticed there isn't any virgin crap anywhere on the device? No splash at startup and no virgin applications. Also no branding on the case? Is this normal?

Yep not much virgin stuff on this, there is the connections optimizer app which you will likely wish to disable. Mine does have the virgin splash video but thankfully not the rediculous song that was on my other phones. it also may try to download the virgin mobile ID app which was a huge problem when I activated my phone a few months ago (it would get stuck in a loop of trying to download the packs for this and failing and then start the process over again). They have fixed it but not sure if they completely scrapped the app for this device or not. Mine seemed like it downloaded and it's still taking up space on the device but as near as I can tell there is no way to open the app or do anything with it. There is also the app to check your account and give you device info from Virgin Mobile (that one actually seems to work ok). All in all not much bloat, there is a fair amount from HTC though.

Hope that helps!

Since Sprint has quite a few MVNO's most of these prepaid phones are setup on Sprint's Chameleon network. This allows the phones to be used on various carriers without having carrier specific phones. When the phone is activated the phones is branded to the appropriate carrier.

Once you activate you'll get the Virgin Mobile junk after phones reboots.
