Hi!
Today a friend of mine asked me what was the MMS message I had sent her earlier. Because I have never sent a MMS to anyone, I got suspicious. On our conversation on (Facebook) Messenger app there was indeed a MMS which I had never sent. She told me she wasn't going to open it because a friend of her had a virus problem in similar circumstances. Now, this is where it gets odd: on November 10th I recieved a message(below) from Facebook, which I found very suspicious, given that I don't have my number associated with ANY website or social network. The message (which is written in improper portuguese) reads:
"(CODE) is your Facebook confirmation code
Answer "stop" or access (URL) to stop recieving text messages from Facebook"
Note: the answer that reads not sent was made today(11/19), to make a point.
As if this wasn't enough, on October 29 at 2am , my phone's anti virus started going crazy saying my home connection wasn't safe, and shortly after, I had Denial Of Service messages on my computers and cellphone which lasted throughout the day(on every single website I tried)... After factory resetting the cellphone, formatting every single disk on every computer and resetting the router password (because my service providers are a bunch of jackasses who refused a router exchange), the problem was (and is?) seemingly gone.
Can these events be correlated? Can this really be Facebook's number? Has anyone ever had issues like these? Am I going paranoid? Maybe aliens are trying to communicate with me? XD
Any answer is greatly appreciated!![/CODE]
EDIT: I only send her regular(internet) messages through the FB Messenger app. All my communications are made with the default communications app. Although my number is not associated with FB, it still appears on her Messenger app
