I've had my S5 for about a month now and several times two random pictures show up in my photos. They both have black backgrounds, one with a white lightning bolt, the other with a white i. I delete them every time but they always come back. What could this be from?

Hi fiercela, welcome to Android Forums! :)

When you say they show up in your photos, is it in the gallery app? or do they actually appear in the DCIM folder (where your camera saves photos)?

The gallery has a tendency to show you everything, even thumbnails and some cached images from websites. My guess would be that an app you are using, or a website you go to uses these images and every time you visit, it throws them in a cache folder the gallery can see.

It's in both photos apps, the storage one and the gallery one. How do you know of they are coming from a certain site?

If you long-press the image in the gallery, you select it and then you can go to properties of details (not sure which) to see the folder it's actually saved in. That should give you a pretty good idea of where it's coming from.

It's coming from storage/emluated/0/campaignicons I have no idea what that is. I deleted the two pictures the other day and they are back today.

Oh, I have them too. :o

Apparently they are part of weatherbug. You can either uninstall weatherbug or you can place an empty file called ".nomedia" (with the leading dot, but no quotes) in the campaignicons folder.

It is NOT WeatherBug. I've had that app on my devices and never saw this image issue. Whatever causes the 'campaignicons' images is malware. The images aren't even used in WeatherBug.

Actually they are part of the spark service used by weatherbug. If you haven't accepted the EULA for spark you might not have them, or, you might have them stored in the proper location which is in /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.aws.android/cache/.campaignicons/ I really don't know why it creates the visible directories on some devices. :dontknow:
