Viruses and Malware on Android phones

Is it true that Android phones are more prone to malware and viruses than the iPhone? I've had an iPhone since 2008 and I've never had an issue with malware or viruses.

Not true. You you have nothing to worry about if you only install apps from the Play Store and leave 'Settings > Security > Unknown sources' UNchecked.

Android is solid and safe.

What it does have that isn't on available on iPhones (or not near as easily) is the option to CHOOSE to be not safe. You can download stuff from outside the play store. sometimes this stuff is fine. Sometimes that "free" app that claims to get you a pirated version of Guardians of the Galaxy (the one that sounds to good to be true) well guess what...

Like the above poster said if you stick to the play store and don't side load stuff from hackers sites/etc you're fine.
