2 hours wasted trying to get any driver to work on this damn laptop. Works fine in Linux and on 32 bit xp, I read multiple guides online. No results, it keeps saying it has a better driver than the one I have. Who the hell thought this crap up? My god, I've never had any issues like this in XP. OK, now I'm done venting, Vista sucks ;)

I can not find any fault in your logic Vista does really suck! And while unfortunately I can't help you on this in any way maybe we can do some good in this world by keeping just one person from buying Vista from a bargain bin somewhere.

Lol, it's gonna be yet another computer I'm gonna put linux on, and Damn free laptops :D

Im just assuming you already tried the pdanet OLDER version driver?
if not that definately should work, it will warn you that it doesn't match but install it anyway...i believe version 3.5 is current, try 2 version before that, or 3.5 first..

Ya I tried pdanet 2 and 3.5, honestly something is wrong with the os, it can't even find a driver for my wireless mouse, that worked perfectly on xp. So anyways, i'm sticking with my lenovo x61 tablet with xp, Linux Mint on my Sony viao, and giving the wife the Toshiba with vista, I can't stand it! But thanks for the help :D

You could always try Windows 7. Or Windows XP. I don't see why they made Vista, sometimes it's so useless it reminds me of Apple products. At least an upgrade makes it more useful. :p

One last small suggestion b/c I remotely helped someone do this on vista and i Had to go to the driver signature file, and install the signature manually, then run the pdanet setup again. and that worked...

check the forums for cwm drivers it should help cause they use pda net and they have a link for vista users as well for drivers. another might help if u stick ur usb in a diff port....thank if this helps
