Help Visual Voicemail

Does Visual Voicemail require an active 4G/3G connection to work? I try to open mine, and it just gets stuck on "Please wait: Verifying your account information, this may take a minute" I even have the voicemail waiting icon, but nothing shows up in Visual Voicemail. Do I need to activate it somehow?

It requires an active connection to download the message, but other than that I didn't have to do anything to start using it the first time. I turned off my data, and called myself to leave a message. If you open the voicemail app, it will show, "you have new voicemail that cannot be downloaded." Once I turned the data back on, the message downloaded by itself.

Visual Voicemail doesnt seem to work at all here. No messages are displayed in the inbox.

If you came from a different phone on virgin mobile and didn't delete your Voicemail messages you are now plagued with a voicemail icon that will never go away. based on your description it sounds like that's what's happened

Yup. I have 3 non visual voice mails from my old Samsung Intercept that I haven't been able to check or delete. I have the new voice mail notification 24/7 and I get a separate voice mail notification for new messages.

How do you get visual voice mail to work on pre-paid? I was under the impression that they did not work on pre-paid phones.

There might have been work-arounds on previous phones, with Google Voice or Youmail maybe? I never really looked into it. But it is only recently that some prepaid companies have offered it officially. The Evo V comes with a voicemail app (there's no text transcription, though), and it is also now a feature offered for those using the Evo Design on Boost. Don't know about other prepaid carriers.

My problem is that voicemail does not appear in the app. No, I don't have the ghost voicemail problem, sorry if I worded it incorrectly. I will try it again if I have time and see if it works with data.

Same here, I had no voicemail till I called my phone and left a message. I got a status notification of a missed call but no voicemail notification and nothing in Visual Voicemail.
