vitria won't charge

i dropped my phone last night, but it still worked fine and the battery was at 60%...I plugged it in anyway but this morning it was drained, battery was at 7% when i realized it didn't charge. I checked to make sure the plugged was in the socket all the way, i took another charger plugged it in and the phone did not respond. I removed the battery, reinserted it but still nothing. what could have happened, and is there anything i can do besides buying another phone or battery. if the phone was damaged and thats the cause of the battery not charging, would replacing with a new battery really make a difference?

Chances are that the microUSB connector popped off the motherboard. It's a simple repair once you get the phone open, but you might end up paying $50 or more for labor. (The "part", about 1/8" of solder, is worth about a penny.)

If the phone is less than 30 days you can try taking it to metro for an exchange under warranty.
