VizSAFE - Crowdsourced Community Safety

VizSAFE is basically a crowdsourced neighborhood watch project. And the app, free in the Play Store, lets you take and upload a geo-tagged picture of a safety concern. Categories include animals, police, fire, traffic, and a recent addition - drought.

This last category is how I found out about the app. I live in California and we're in a drought, but a lot of people have automated sprinklers that water the sidewalk or street more than their grass, or maybe they use a hose to spray down their driveway. So now you can take a picture and post it to VizSAFE.

I know big events like a watermain breaking and flooding UCLA are a lot worse, but just because something like a broken sprinkler isn't as bad as that doesn't make it not bad at all.

So if you're in California, download the app and use it to report water waste.
