VM to get HTC Evo V 4G maybe????

I recently posted about Sprint upgrading to EvDo Rev B, which is about 3x faster than Rev A. The Evo 3D supports EvDo Rev B so it sounds plausible.....
If this alone does indeed increase bandwidth speed, this is good for my video/streaming needs :-)

I would rather have LTE or "advanced 3G" (which is a GSM thing I know.) than WiMax.... but it is a step in the right direction. I'm just wanting something to replace the Triumph. (This or the One V)

VM will brand it as.. HTC EVO V 4G

The HTC EVO 3D has some good specs, a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 1GB of RAM. The 4.3 inch screen offers qHD resolution and the dual-lens 5MP camera on back lets you snap 3D pictures. The unit is one of two glasses-free 3D smartphones in the States and will continue to offer 4G hotspot functionality.

* It is a rumor so take it with a grain of salt.

just so you know this is probably gonna get merged/ deleted... There have already been posts... This is more relevant in the VM section where there is already a post than the MT section...

If this phone comes to VM, it will be on WiMax. Sprint is phasing out WiMax to go to LTE, but they have a contract with Clearwire until 2015 for continued WiMax.

Can someone please explain to me why WiMAX is hated so much??? WiMAX release 1 tops out at 37mbps download, which is certainly not slow. I don't know what speeds you guys are getting, but around the Chicago area, this is typical. clear.speed test chicago - YouTube
At this point, besides Verizon, no other provider on any G technology is getting speeds anywhere near clear's WiMAX network.

Your point is valid. I am not a WiMax hater. In fact, I did have Clear at one time (here in Houston.), and it was fast. 12Mbit down, 2 up. It was sweet, all for $55 a month. That changed when they screwed up the tower in my area, and it went to shit. (Like .74 down, .3 up)

Obviously, it is a market to market thing. But here in Houston, at least in my part of town, WiMax isn't any faster than ATT 3G.

I hope WiMax is good in the Las Vegas area.

Where there is smoke there is fire? Evo Design 4G could be headed to Boost so Sprint looks to be upping their prepaid offering.

HTC EVO Design 4G Coming to Boost Mobile

We recently learned that Virgin Mobile would soon be offering the HTC EVO 3D (as the HTC EVO V 4G), and now a reliable source has revealed that sister brand Boost Mobile will begin carrying yet another Sprint handset, the HTC EVO Design 4G.

Since reading this, I read recently that they're scrapping the Evdo rev-b plan. Maybe they'll give VM and Boost Mobile WiMax when Sprint goes over to LTE.
