to gain experience in rooting i decided to buy a cheap android phone, ( i ended up buying two, a htc tattoo and a vodafone 858)
the vodafone 858(huawei 8160) is actually not bad, but was so slow it was almost fecked against the wall, my htc smart was faster,
i rooted using z4root, downloaded rom manager and clockwork recovery, then flashed cm7.
it now runs android 2.3.7 (was 2.2.1),
impressed,,,,, yes, it is a fantastic little phone, whilst not as fast as my sensation xe ( hardly suprising considering 528mhz against 1.5ghz dual) but it will definatly stay in my collection, the build quality is really good considering its all plastic construction, the screen res is good and rooting it has enabled multi touch.
i would like to see a section for this phone in the forum as i can see it being quite popular, especially as it only costs around a 10th of the cost of a top model droid (
