Hi,

I've a rooted, unlocked Vodafone Smart Prime 6 running Lollipop 5.0. I was prompted to update the software earlier and it seems to have bricked the phone.

Initially, when the phone rebooted an error message appeared like the one in this post. Whether it's that exact one, I'm couldn't be sure as the error message disappeared after I clicked the 'reboot system now' option from the list below:

reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from sdcard
aooky update from phone storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
reboot to bootloader
power down
view recovery logs
write protect switch

Trying to reboot the system didn't work and a 'No command' error message appeared before eventually bringing the phone back to the menu above.

I'm just wondering now, what are my options with the phone? Also, if there's any additional information needed to get this fixed, please tell me.

Thanks,
J

Never take an OTA update on a rooted phone.
You will need to find and flash the correct current ROM image.

<=======

Carrier house brand phones like this are invariably from Chinese manufacturers, most likely is TCL, given that this phone seems to be sold as Alcatel branded as well. As for finding a ROM for it, possibly it's one of these...Can you read Chinese?... http://www.romjd.com/Rom/ModelList/74

Or you could try building a kernel from those URLs, don't know about that at all.......but 99% sure you'll need to flash a complete ROM to get this phone going again.
