Vodafone UK Jelly Bean 4.1.1 OTA has arrived

Hi all - I got my OTA update to Jelly Bean last night with Vodafone UK. I wasn't expecting this for a few weeks at least after all the struggles with ordering this phone when it was first released, but pleasantly surprised!

I haven't had too much time to test everything, but I seem to be having some of the Google Now problems brought up in the other UK threads - it does seem very quick and smooth though.

Cool. Can you let us know which build you're on? I'm on yakjuxw and was about to flash to yakju to get OTA updates, but if what you're saying means that it's on its way anyway...

The build number is JRO03C - I'm not sure how to check if I am yakjuxw or yakju. If you tell me how to check I'll let you know.

Thank you. The easiest way is to go into Maps > Settings > About and it's listed under Device.

That's very interesting.

For anyone (like me) just finding out about such things, yakju is the 'pure' Google-distributed build. Anything else will require development from a 3rd party, even if that's just Samsung (which I believe is the case with yakjuxw).

Exactly what dictates which you have I'm still not 100% sure on, especially now as we appear to have two devices from the same source on different builds. Mine came from Handcent.

Think I'm going to go ahead and flash to yakju. I bought the Galaxy Nexus assuming I'd have a completely clean firmware, like the Nexus One I had previously. Seems I need to help it along a little to ensure that's what I have.

That is odd. Having bought from Vodafone (and dealing with the drama of them delaying the release as they had to flash the phone with an update to fix the volume bug users were experiencing) I assumed I would be on the 'non-pure' build.
