voice command from the lock screen

I'm thinking of returning my HTC and getting an S5.

I'm coming from ios and I used Siri all the time to set alarms and appointments. I could pick up my phone and create an alarm in seconds without looking at the phone or unlocking / navigating.

Please tell me there is as better way to do this on the M8.

The S5 won't help you. You can wake it up, but if the screen is locked, i'll just wake up the lock screen, Once you've unlocked it you can use voice commands.
