Help Voice Issues

I am having problems with my Galaxy S. If I am anywhere with moderate or louder background noise the person talking to me hears alot of the background noise and my voice ends up sounding like its in a garberator. It cracks and fuzzes and cuts in and out and nobody can hear me. Am I missing a setting anywhere or is this a real issue? I have tried a new galaxy in case it was mine and that one was doing the same thing. Any help would be awsome.
