Voice mail?

Hello,
Is there any app that instead of the voicemail going to the network it gets stored on my phone? It end ups costing me quite alot (
 
Google Voice does that and more. It is a great app. It has just became available in the UK from what I just read in a quick search. You will need to research it more. I am in the US.
 
The Google Voice app does not work in the UK has only the US (and Canada?) can get a free number, which is needed for the app.
