Voice Recognition - Hardware Question

Are any brands or models better when it comes to the quality of the mircophone/hardware or is it all in the app? Any recommendations? I'm looking to buy a phone and this will be a very important feature for me.

My application will be single words mostly (dictionary and pulling up words in google translate).

Generally any big name brand will have good quality mics. Most of the top of the line phones use 2 microphones for noise cancelling. And most stores have demo models you can try the voice settings with, so you can see for yourself.
