Voice to Text keeps repeating voice-to-text keeps repeating sentences

Well at least I'm not the only one. I've been going crazy today trying to figure out what is going on with my talk to text. Repeating all my sentences over and over, and it is exactly as stated previously. Where each sentence is a different version of what could have been said. I've also notice strange auto corrects for typed words as well, things changed to something that doesn't even make sense to what I was trying to say. I really hope this gets fixed quickly as I depend on talk to text quite a lot.
Me too... I have a Galaxy S7 and I have been struggling with this problem today since I did the update Android 7.0, it's very frustrating to us who use talk features often!

I'm having the same problem. I have a Galaxy S4. It started happening within the last few days.

When I voice text, the same text is being repeated multiple times; sometimes it's a total of 4 times, other times it's 5.

Usually it's the same exact text, but there are a few exceptions:

- Sometimes, an actual comma is in the sentence the first time it's listed, but then in subsequent repeated sentences, it's the word "comma" instead.

- I voiced texted a sentence with the word "Yeah" at the beginning, and it was spelled that way for the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th time, but for the 2nd time, it was just "yea."

Same issue. Say miss you. Same issue period same as you. They miss you. (See???)
Lg g5 and galaxy s5. Just started after an update. Sooooo frustrated

I THINK the problem is related to google. I turn off my wifi and speech to started acting normal at least for me any way I hope this helps.

I just joined this forum to complain about this issue, when I use voice to text comma it prints multiple versions I just joined this for him to complain about this issue, when I use voice to text comma it prints multiple versions I just joined this forum to complain about this issue, when I use voice to text, it prints multiple versions I just joined this for him to complain about this issue, when I use voice to text, it prints multiple versions I just joined this forum to complain about this issue comma when I use voice to text comma it prints multiple versions

Yup same issue LG V20 (Verizon). Duplicates voice to text, going to Googles app and uninstalling any updates did not help. Definitely something with Google themselves, not phone manufacture specific.

Uninstalled Google and re-installed. Switched keyboards. Tried 4G only and WiFi only. Problem persists. OK GOOGLE, fix it!

Hey @Beckett727,

So you're having trouble with the voice typing feature repeating phrases? (repeating phrases? sorry I had to!)

Have you noticed a pattern for when it repeats? On/off WiFi, when tapping the microphone button to pause speech input, etc?

If I'm not mistaken, this functionality is provided by the "Google voice typing" component of the Google app. I've seen some users report this problem appearing after that app was updated; it might be worth a shot to go to Settings > Apps > Google and look for an option to Uninstall updates to see if that has any effect.

I was also told in addition to the repeat sentences that the texts were sending more than once tonight at work. Typing text messages is so irritating, it's reminding me of the days of snail mail!

Same issue here with T Mobile and my 7 edge, just began tonight but was aware of the problem from a friend with Sprint ..same issue started for them yesterday on their S4 and S5... called and spoke to google tonight, they couldn't tell me a thing... no phone support they said...smh..I know they must be aware of the issue I would just like to know if they have a fix yet or idea of how long it will be messed up...anyone else have any idea? Thanks!

I just started having the same problem today. Quite frustrating since I drive for a living, and use this feature daily. I know its not a solution, but I might recommend anyone who relies on this feature check out Swype Keyboard. It comes with its own voice recognition.

I found a solution I can live with, since Google isn't rushing to fix this problem--yesterday I had to swipe off my Wi-Fi each time I spoke a text, which was a PITA. So I downloaded a free talk-to-type app (I chose one called TalkType) and set it as my default. Problem solved. No text repeats. It even has a better keyboard, one I can set to a different size that makes typing easier, as well.

I had the same issue, started yesterday (Wednesday 3/8/17) with my ZTE Axon 7 running stock-rooted Nougat.....I was wondering if it had anything to do with the Google Assistant update I received late Tuesday evening?

The temporary solution I found was to use Swype Keyboard instead of Swiftkey, Gboard, and/or Chroma (that all use Google voice to text).....Swype doesn't use "Google" to translate voice to text, it uses it's proprietary "Dragon" software. It has improved significantly since the last time I tried it and is actually usable now.

I did switch back to Swiftkey a few minutes ago and tried it again, and it problems seems to be fixed (for me)?? But, I am in a different location than I was all day yesterday = home vs work (a 40 mile difference). So, I'm not sure if the wifi had anything to do with it, or if it's actually fixed (for me) this morning? I'll keep checking it throughout the day and again when I get home.

Thanks for keeping the reports coming in! It's great to compare notes with other users here, but please also follow through with these suggestions:

  1. I would suggest that you use the Send feedback option in the Google app to report the issue directly to the developers.
  2. I found a thread at Google's Nexus Help Forum describing the same problem. I would encourage you to add your experiences there as well: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/oY-rsjKXwHo.

Google doesn't typically monitor Android Forums, but they do have people paid to read each feedback submission as well as monitor their official support forums. :thumbsupdroid:

Good idea, I was trying to figure out how to submit the problem. So thanks, I just sent feedback to Google.
