Help Voice-To-Text Works When It Wants To

google voice to text gets hung up when i'm trying to use it in any app (hangouts, messaging, dolphin browser, etc).

take hangouts for example; when i press the microphone button on the keyboard, the "speak now" screen will pop up... but it's frozen with a green mic that isn't listening or responding when i touch it. sometimes it works though, other times i have to close and reopen the app a bunch of times.

am i the only one?
