I recently did google voice, but didn't change my number, now all my voicemail come through my gmail as texts. Perfect situation for me and i love it. However, I had 2 voicemails pending when I set this up and even though I know what they were, I never checked it before setting up google voice. Now, I can't access them.

Do unlistened to voicemail dissapear after a certain amount of time, or am I going to have to turn off GV listen to and delete my voicemail, and start GV back up?

Everytime I try to call my voicemail, it takes me to my GV voicemail and I can leave myself a message, but can't check them the old fashioned way.

You'd need to disable conditional call forwarding (what you did when you "activated GV voicemail for your phone"), check your carrier's VM, delete those messages and then set up conditional call forwarding again.
